Exciting updates!
Nopevember is over!
Greetings fren! It's probably safe to assume that everyone in the crypto space is relieved that November has drawn to a close. The FTX contagion is still the talk of the town, but, at least for now, it seems that the dominoes yet to fall will be few and far between. From where we sit, the entire FTX saga paints a very clear picture of the dangers associated with leaving assets on platforms with a private company at the helm. While its highly unlikely that EVERYONE at FTX was involved in the extended con carried out by SBF, it's certain that he wasn't acting alone. With what we now know about SBF, can we really be expected to be confident in the belief that CZ hasn't become a similarly centralized, but far more powerful risk? Only time can tell now, but our best recommendation would be this:GET YOUR DAMN CRYPTO OFF OF CENTRALIZED PLATFORMS! If you're hesitating because you're not familiar with the management of the funds on your own, or with setting up a non-custodial wallet, there are plenty of tutorials available for both on multiple video/written content platforms.
Anyway, we'll keep this edition of the newsletter brief and to the point, which, namely is providing information about some recent updates within the $DOWN ecosystem.

SMOOTHIE AWARDSYep! $DOWN DAO [the upcoming governing body of the $DOWN Vault token experiment) has been approved for candidacy in the 'Smoothie Awards', a weekly, decentralized, community-curated ranking contest to decide the best emerging and long-established projects being built in the Web 3.0 ecosystem. Our project page goes live with voting enabled on Dec. 19th - and we'll be creating a special NFT reward to distribute to all of our supporters who show up and vote! (as well as planning for additional NFTs, NFT fractions, or $DOWN potentially being airdropped to voters and to the wider community if, nay when, we place in the top 3 or win)
KAZMKazm is a platform we'd been invited to explore in what was likely its earliest iteration; which at the time was essentially a beefy block explorer with more visual data displays. Currently, we're mentioning it because it's currently A: In open beta and publicly accessibleB: A Web3 native CRM platform, enabling a lot of saved time for projects' teams. We won't get into too much detail past that, but it's definitely worth a serious look.
$DOWN DEGEN DEPARTMENTYikes, what a mouthful. In a few words, the $DOWN Degen Dept.(s) are/will be a variety of group-investing strategies made available to $DOWN token hodl'ers, with any activated strategy being configured so that any fees generated are paid either to the $DOWN DAO treasury, or directly to the $DOWN Vault NFT, effectively becoming dividends to holders. Our first two Degen Dept. initiatives have been live for a short while already, to allow us to better understand the platforms prior to inviting our community to participate. ENZYME || TOKENSETS || PRYSM$DOWN TOWNIt's metaverse stuffs. We're working on it pretty quietly. Shhh... ;)
