$DOWN and Dirty

Still hustlin, still grindin.

Howdy dearest subscribers~ Bruce here; checking in as it’s been, once again, a while since the last newsletter went out, and Discord is very draining at this stage, so I’ve been less than talkative surrounding all things $DOWN Vault.

Anyway, read on for the halfway-through-2023-already updates!

Allow me to lead with some perspective, not to seem sanctimonious; but rather to provide a window to see how the gears are moving.
As you’re surely aware; $DOWN is an attempt at upgrading the “social token” format to empower creators in the Web 3.0 space. What you may not know is that with very few exceptions, $DOWN is a one-man-show.

This inconvenient truth is the most significant deciding factor in the lack of consistent updates, marketing campaigns, influencer content, etc. etc.

BUT HERE’S WHY

Because I’m the type of person to happily do everything I can learn to do so that I know its’ been done properly; and I do my best to dedicate the time and energy I have at my disposal on building the products and integrations that are planned as opposed to talking them up, driving hype, or inflating market data.

As for the building of products and integrations; there’s a lot that’s already been deployed and is accessible to $DOWN Vault token holders; here’s a quick rundown of what’s live and what’s coming. but there’s a couple recently launched biolink projects that I think might be more efficient once the ecosystem really starts expanding and being adopted.

  • NFT Gachapon - Insert coin (USDC), receive NFT prize. Funds the $DOWN Vault reserve and the $DOWN DAO.

  • $DOWN Lotto - 25 tickets per round, winner takes all automagic prize pool. 5% Prize tax to the $DOWN Vault.
    - no dapp yet, but it’s a simple contract interaction. Call {playJackpot}, approve $DOWN, call again.

  • Cryptovisions Daily- This one has a full introduction available on the project Medium page; but in a few words, it’s an autonomous AI artist that mints 1 NFT a day influenced by market changes. More info here.
    - While not exclusively available to $DOWN hodl’ers; the funds from the sale of any of these NFTs has a 90% allocation to the $DOWN DAO and $DOWN Vault reserve.

  • Higher/Lower Wagers - This one is a bit tricky. The dapp that enabled the deployment and interaction with the over/under game seems to have been sunset. The smart contract for the $DOWN wagers and the $DOWN liquidity within the protocol were my deployments, and can be interacted directly if desired, but I aim to have an app live when possible. The title links to their docs; this link is their repos. I’m not 100% on the direct-to-contract strategy for this one. DYOR.

There’s a ton more that I have in mind; and I fervently believe that the potential of $DOWN Vault to revolutionize ‘social tokens’ is the missing piece needed for ‘social tokens 2.0’ to draw millions of new users into crypto through p2p patronage. I’m not stopping ever; but my abilities and time are limited.
